Today was yet another day of adulting--ugh!--and one of my responsibilities was to answer interview questions. A former student is writing a college research essay about approaches to writing instruction, and he asked me if I'd be willing to answer a series of questions about how I approach writing instruction as a high school English teacher. I got really into my answers and had a great time thinking about his questions, too, so I'm counting my answers (1135 words) as my day's writing.

[i also forgot to mention yesterday that, with notes included, i reached my 30k goal for the month! at the end of today i'm 1.5k short on the 30k-of-prose goal, which should be totally reachable in the next two days come on brain, do the thing ]

29th: I read through my draft, made some edits, and sent it to a friend for plot beta. And I wrote 520 words of something else that, if I can finish it, will be a decent backup fic if the draft turns out to be unsalvageable for some reason. (I'm not expecting it to, but a backup is always nice to have.)

Of course, I have no idea how to end the something else, but that's a problem for tomorrow...

I finished my draft for the not-assignment draft. First look at the wordcount says it will definitely be over 20k total words. It is now off to a beta, and now I have to think about the sequel hook that wrote itself in while I wasn't looking.

I did a fair bit of research reading for the novel, which gave me idea for a supporting character and some plot points, so I wrote down quite a bit of planning.

In the evening I finished watching the Second Doctor's last story and needed to write some fix-it for things, so 760 more words from that.

Congrats on reaching your Camp NaNo goal! ***\O/*** I'm also happy to hear that writing works well for you these days.
I haven't been much only myself during the last week, as we had guests for a couple of days and started on the gardening work before that. I wrote 55 words on the 24th, 916 on the 25th, and about 250 each on the 26th-27th, all on a drawer fic. I also talked lots and lots about writing and my writing projects as one of the guests was my closest writing buddy, and now wish I had a time-turner to put all the new ideas to paper... LOL
