Ashes to Ashes 3x06 Reaction Post

 

Well, ep 6 already! Only 3 more hours of Gene Hunt left after tonight! *resists the urge to cry, just about*

 

I’m a little anxious about tonight, mainly because of various spoilers I’ve come across all week. The main one is on Matthew Graham’s Twitter, suggesting that one of our regular cast members is going to run into serious trouble. And in my head this has mutated into ONE OF THEM IS GOING TO DIEEEEEE :OOO. Whether I’m being overly worried or not, time will tell.

 

Loving the preview clip again this week. Gene looks absolutely scorching as ever and I’m amazed he manages not to get hit with any of the crap the prisoners are throwing around, lol. Unbreakable, that’s him.

 

Anyway, nervous, excited, sad. Every ep of this series has completely blown me away with its awesome and I can’t wait to see what they have in store as we ratchet up the pace even further towards the end of everything.

 

I’m thinking that Chris really ought to be one to end up in real danger tonight, especially as he hasn’t had an episode focused on him yet. I’m worried that he hasn’t had a Bowieflash, or seen stars, and seems to be on Keats’ side. I guess we’ll find out.

It’s 22:34 now. That was mad. Completely and utterly bonkers.

 

After the ep AND THE FUCKING TRAILERS OMG I stood up and wandered into the kitchen to make myself the tea I should have made hours ago. And all the time I was pacing, just saying “Gene! Alex! Sam! Gene and Sam! Gene and Alex!” I LOVE that this show still gives me that utter buzz 4 years on. There’s no feeling like it. When you get up from your sofa and you feel like your mind’s been stretched about 5 miles outwards, it’s glorious. It hurts, and it’s not always happy, but it’s a really good feeling.

 

The reaction from the Disposable Chatroom seems to be a negative one. Lucy’s crying, which makes me sad. I’m… not crying. I don’t feel numb either, I’m guessing I’m still in shock, but there you are.

And now it’s 23:18, lol. I’m never gonna get this post done. :P I’ve been on Disposable and MSN some more just talking to peeps about their reactions. This is what being a fan is all about, watching fandom implode, seeing people go bonkers over something we all love so much. And it hurts where there is upset and anger but that’s all par for the course as well. It’s great that we’re all so emotionally invested in something, even though in two weeks time we’ll all be heartbroken because it’s over.

 

Right, now I’m FINALLY going to start typing up my notes. Yet another record page number of 7 when last week it was 6, lol. Don’t know I’ll finish it before daybreak! XD It’s nearly midnight already.

 

Anyway, here goes:

 

-          Pretty Alex on sofa. Whistling. Footsteps. Football.

-          Spastic tortoise, says Ray. Sending in 6 units, says Viv. I need a word Guv.

-          Met refresher course XP

-          Seeya later girls <333333333

-          Braveheart! <3333 Geeeeeeene

-          Keats smiling *shudders*

-          Love this music. Preview clip. Love Gene.

-          Viv shouting Guv. Need to listen.

-          Hunt leading the charge.

-          Surrounded.

-          Walked into bloody ambush

-          Where’s Viv? They’ve got him. You never leave a man behind! Going in there. You can’t do that!

-          Everyone takes hold of Gene to stop him going in! :O

-          Alex’s tag line again. Feels like a different show now.

-          Hostage.

-          Thank you, Shaz. :)

-          Bloody hell Guv, you alright? :(

-          It’s alright Shaz <3 Alex comforting her.

-          My fault :(

-          Incident room. Makes me think of Sam’s crisis centre in 1x06.

-          Gene says he’s not playing anymore. Leans on his desk.

-          Keats, whistling, strides out of the doors. <333 That’s such a creepy, amazing scene, and so heartbreaking for Gene.

-          Cut to Keats sitting in the incident room, just smoking and listening to the others trying to figure it out.

-          CCTV – Did they have this in 83 then? Apparently so. Does Gene remember that Sam once mentioned CCTV?

-          Gene talking over the tannoy. I’m negotiating, he says. Saaaaaaam.

-          Guns. 3 coppers.

-          Shit.

-          Shoots cameras. Gene says he’s going back in there.

-          “I think he means it.” with the sign. Alex fails to reach him.

-          Gene looks worried.

-          Shit. Gene blames himself for this. :(((((

-          “Not the first time he’s been cavalier with an officer’s safety.” So while I was watching the ep I thought of Sam’s ‘death’, obviously. But thinking now, does Keats know about Morgan and the 2x08 train heist back in ’73?

-          “Yes, hello, what?”. says Gene to Alex :D

-          BOWIE! <3333

-          She finds out who he is!

-          Clothes lines.

-          Viv praying.

-          Shaz and Alex.

-          “I’m forever blowing bubbles” – LOVE Keats. He’s so brilliantly creepy.

-          Keats and Alex. “Now is exactly the right time.” Have I ever mentioned that I ship it, just a little bit? XDDDD Even if at the end of the day it’s all just about Gene.

-          What’s Gene done?

-          He’s covered things up.

-          Tell me? Have you ever stared at something so long…goes black? OMG IS HE DESCRIBING A BOWIEFLASH?

-          Is it a trick of the mind. Whatever ever happened to Keats being from the future? We seem to have forgotten about that. What do we think he is, now?

-          Do the right thing. That sounds like Sam.

-          Gene finds out that two of our suspects shared a cell by looking through files. That’s Sam’s influence, that is. He wouldn’t do it if he didn’t know it worked. <3

-          No, says Gene to Alex. You stay here and watch these. And him. *gestures to Keats* :P

-          Find out what you need, Keats tells Alex.

-          What about Viv?

-          Alex in Gene’s office.

-          Ooh, but here come Ray and Chris. They’re covering up for Gene?

-          Gene beating up Paul Thordy. Guv, stop! says Alex

-          That’s a good man in there.

-          Gotta sail amongst the stars.

-          Gonna talk. Let me die.

-          3 years. Hating you. Torture. Done worse.

-          stranger. I know things about Sam Tyler. You keep banging on about Tyler.

-          Hope you have a heart in there. I’ve got two. (Was I the only one who thought he was carrying Sam’s around with him in a metaphorical slashy sense, before he had to go spoil it by it being a reminder of the warning he gave the crim on the tannoy earlier?)

-          Hammers fans. (This line in particular is heartbreaking in retrospect)

-          Ray I need to talk to you. Not the time. Shaz.

-          Live in space. Dots of light. No big deal. <3333 Ray

-          Alex walks in. Everything alright?

-          Chris walks in. Ray shakes head at Chris’ silliness. <333

-          Night ma’am.

-          Viv :(

-          Keats playing cards…with himself? LOL.

-          Gene alone in station. Smoking.

-          Back in prison incident room, Shaz and Chris asleep. ALEX COVERS SHAZ WITH A BLANKET :D. Also removes the ciggy from Chris’ fingers. She really cares about them doesn’t she. Major moment of me loving Alex here. <3333

-          Guv what are you doing? Alex. Echoes. Whistling. Corridor.

-          Evidence room. Blood on locker. Tooth.

-          Dead PC? What are you trying to tell me?

-          “I don’t want to be here.” This is a bit of turnaround from Alex again all of sudden. She just upset at Gene?

-          He disappears again when she looks at the tooth and back.

-          Cells. Keats. Be my guest, Alex.

-          Really scary when hatch is opened. And Thorpe pops up. “Knew you’d come back” Madman.

-          When you know the truth. None of this is real.

-         My name is Sam Tyler. Am I mad, in a coma, or back in time?

-       W.T.F?! :o
