Here we go, another month of writing :) Feel free to cheer each other on in the comments.

Let us know what your goals or plans are for April, if you like.

I'm doing Camp NaNoWriMo and my goal for the month is 30,000 words.

Today I've started by adding 1,037 words to my novel project. It's a warm sunny day but we had some strong winds last week, I wrote while listening to - what I assume was - the next-but-one neighbour hammering in a new fence post. Instead of being irritated by this background noise, I felt a bit smug that all I have to do is move my fingers over some keys. :D

How has your day gone? How willing were the words?

[afternoon from over here, i'm just dragging myself out of bed and then it'll be work till midnight. my plan for getting something done every calendar day is to have at least a couple of hours around 1-3am and to not edit a single thing beyond typos and spelling errors. i've been editing march's stuff without concluding it, getting bored of seeing it and then it stalls, i find it too hard to close ]

[last night i hit the rng to get some drabble prompts, managed 520 words total. i'd like to hit 30K over the month, on whatever projects they end up in, but it's a high goal. i often end up writing on my phone and some days you get 10 words there, sometimes 2k ]

Hi!

I am doing Camp Nano, and my goal is 20k. Today has been slow so far, only 100 words added to my drabble collection, but there's still a few hours to go before bed time, so I'll try to write more. Even though words do not seem to be willing at all right now.

[ty, it's nice to join the event :3 ]

[i just write into the note app and email a back up asap, i always get to the desktop eventually during the day but writing inspo/opportunities happen whenever, rather than when it's convenient. ive been so much more productive on the phone the last month, im hoping i can beat my last record of 24k ]

I find it seriously amazing you can write that much on a phone. I can barely type a couple sentences at time to text people, because I get frustrated how long it takes.

Hello!!

I got bitten by a plot bunny last night, so I wrote 1052 words today. My goal for the month is to finish this fic (which I don't think will be very long), plus I've also just signed up for my first ever exchange, so I want to have that fic finished by the end of April too.

[it did get a bit physically taxing when i was writing for a couple of hours at a time, but the whole situation was a mess of poor posture and planning, i just had words and had to record them - too many regrets from not doing that! i suppose when you find the zone you find the zone and don't realise until you try and extricate yourself that you've just done something quite strenuous ]

Thank you so much for hosting us this month! Yay! I'm excited to be here and to be interacting with you again. :-)

Good luck on Camp NaNo!

I'm planning to get into major edits on the novel I finished in rough draft last month. In the meantime, I'm writing blog posts and poetry and little bits and pieces of brain scatter.

Today, it's 171 words across four poems on a theme.

Hi! My goals for April are to finish WIP #2 (currently 13.7k; probably aiming for 20-25k in total) and to keep up my flashfic posting streak on [community profile] fan_flashworks.

I'm in New Zealand, so a day ahead of most people. Yesterday (the 1st) I wrote an alibi sentence. Today I'm spectacularly unfocused (and my to-do list is out of control), so I just added 130 words to the WIP and am calling it quits. Hopefully I'll hit my strike tomorrow.

311 words on my camp nano. not a glorious start.

I'm trying to finish the two Christmas open calls for camp nano while noodling on two fanfics when I get time.

Thanks for hosting!

My goal this month is to finish a few short things, to try (again) to corral all the millions of bits of my bookshop novel into something coherent enough to actually edit, and to work on an ongoing nonfiction project.

Today I took a poke at the novel and became instantly overwhelmed. Yeesh. I wrote about 400 words of brainstorming, which doesn't really help, since I already have lots of brainstorming. What I need is ORGANIZATION. But, I worked on the thing!

Hello! I'm poking my head in -- a lot later in the day than I hoped, admittedly -- to report 31 entire words on a WIP that's been languishing since last month. It's less than I'd hoped for, but it's more than the nothing I've been writing, so I'll call that a success!

Thanks for hosting this month! I was too tired to post last night, so checking in now that I've had a good night's sleep (more or less).

My main goals for this month are to a) get my historical novel planning & research to such a shape that I can start writing it in the beginning of next month, and b) post at least two fanfics, however short, that aren't for an exchange, fest etc. I've got a whole bunch of drafts and half-drafts for fluff bingo and other prompts, so it shouldn't be that hard to actually finish and edit and post a couple. I'm also tentatively thinking of adding the goal of writing at least two first drafts of original short stories, because I'd like to finally start submitting my original work to zines and such (few as they may be in my language) rather than just thinking about possibly doing it.

Anyway, yesterday I was busy and tired, but I did finally write 320 words of a new ficlet, and it feels like it's nearly finished, so that's something toward one of those goals!

Hey!! Not sure if I should report day one or day two? But I got 1029 on day one, and 1227 on day two.

Thank you for hosting this month! *waves* Good luck with Camp NaNo! I've done it once, but found that although NaNo in November really works for me and has been a staple since I first joined, doing it again in a similiar if smaller fashion doesn't work for me.

I've been sick in March (flu for two weeks flat, plus another rather exhausted week) and am still catching up with everything, so there wasn't much energy or even time for writing. In theory, I participated at a month-long fandom fest of my main fandom, the Back to Middle-earth Month in the Tolkienverse. We get prompts every day, this year in the form of a bingo, although it's up to us what to do with them. Working at older WIPs is very welcome as long as you create new stuff with the prompts, and I'm one of those who's working on some WIPs originating by earlier rounds of the fest (the theme and subject is different each year), continuing them now and then with suitable ideas or prompts. I had several plans for last month, but none happened, although at least I did manage to write every day. I don't know yet what I'll focus on next, as there really isn't any point in taking up the B2MeM WIPs at this point, since no inspiration happened. As it's getting warmer we also have to take up our current, energy-consuming house maintenance project soon (we have Swedish wooden house and are in the process of painting the outer wooden coat (facade?). So I'll mainly try to get back into steady? (darn, I'm having difficulties of finding the correct terms today) storywriting instead of mainly writing alibi sentences, blog entries, meta or nonfic like the last month, with most days being something different than the previous. I've started yesterday with taking out my Drawer Epic and selected a story I hadn't worked on before, to edit and rewrite this. (The Drawer Epic is a collection of fanfics I'm writing only for myself, grown into a series of several "books" where I put several different stories together, and I'm mainly using this these days to work at my writing weaknesses - or simply to have fun. I wrote 166 new words, which isn't bad for a start.

No goals as such other than to write every day on something, and I apparently had a few thousand to put out today on my Pern read-through.

Thanks. For me it's a matter of time. Both camp and Nano itself hits in the last 4 weeks of a semester when I'm insanely busy.

Thanks!

Is it okay if I check in for the following day, ie, for the 3rd on the Day 2 post? I find it more effective (and easier to keep track) if I'm accounting for the day I'm checking in on, if that makes sense. I'm happy to say which day I'm referring to.

1047 words on 2 projects. Had to go back and hunt these posts. Busy week. I am writing a drabble for every day this month though I may miss the last 3 days... we'll be flying out to Germany and i may not have time... but then again, I might!
